Our Comprehensive, Evidence-Based Assessment Process

Our assessment process combines psychometric screening measures, developmental history, and a comprehensive clinical interview to provide a thorough evaluation of Autism, ADHD, and AuDHD. Each component is essential to ensuring that diagnostic conclusions are accurate, clinically sound, and aligned with current best practices.

By examining your experiences across developmental, social, sensory, emotional, and executive functioning domains, we are able to develop a nuanced understanding of your strengths, challenges, and support needs.

Step 1: Pre-Assessment Screening & Intake

  • We begin with structured self-report tools and intake questionnaires informed by current peer-reviewed research. Optional reflective prompts help you share your lived experience.

  • ✔️ Tools used are internationally recognized and supported by decades of clinical application.

Step 2: Clinical Diagnostic Interview

  • A licensed clinician conducts an in-depth, structured interview to explore developmental history, sensory and emotional experiences, executive functioning, masking, and interpersonal patterns.

  • ✔️ Interviews follow DSM-5 criteria assessment and use gold-standard tools such as the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2), the Autism Diagnostic Interview–Revised (ADI-R),

Step 3: Comprehensive Report & Optional Psychiatric Consultation

Following your clinical interview, a comprehensive diagnostic report will be prepared, integrating information from your psychometric questionnaires, developmental history, and clinical assessment. The report includes diagnostic findings, clinical formulation, and individualized recommendations, and is suitable for use in academic, workplace, and healthcare settings.

If desired, clients may also choose to consult with our consulting psychiatrist for additional diagnostic review, discussion of treatment options, or medication considerations. A referral from your primary care provider (family physician or nurse practitioner) is required to access psychiatric services.

The Assessment Team

We work as a multidisciplinary team with a diverse blend of lived experience, professional training, and clinical expertise. Our team includes a psychologist and a specialist Psychiatrist, both of whom are deeply experienced in neurodivergent assessment and care.

We are available to assess, interpret, and integrate individual test results within a broader clinical and medical context. This includes making diagnostic determinations and supporting treatment planning, following the establishment of a clinical relationship that respects the client’s pace and autonomy.
